Album Notes & Community Reviews
'Wrong' merges the aggression of hardcore punk with the sophisticated arrangements of jazz and progressive rock, establishing it as a landmark in experimental punk. The album is propelled by the intricate, powerful rhythm section of brothers John and Rob Wright and Andy Kerr's dissonant guitar, all underpinning lyrics that veer from apocalyptic dread and nihilism to biting, dark humor. Often cited as the band's definitive masterpiece, its complex yet forceful sound was highly influential, presaging the rise of math rock while solidifying NoMeansNo's cult status.
