Biography
NoMeansNo was a revered Canadian band active from 1980 to 2016, known for their highly technical and complex fusion of punk rock, jazz, funk, and progressive rock. Formed in Victoria, British Columbia, by brothers Rob and John Wright, the group became influential for its intense live performances, intricate musicianship, and dark, intelligent lyrics. Their sound is defined by Rob Wright's prominent, melodic basslines and John Wright's powerful, precise drumming. After years as a duo, they were famously joined by guitarist Andy Kerr for their classic era, which produced seminal albums like 'Wrong' for the #Alternative Tentacles# label, cementing their status as underground legends and pioneers of math rock.
