Album Notes & Community Reviews

Helmed by the perpetually controversial provocateur Boyd Rice, this bleak release laid essential groundwork for the emergence of martial industrial music. 'In the Shadow of the Sword' bombards the listener with oppressive tape loops, militaristic percussion, and Rice's stark, fascist-leaning spoken word philosophies. The album functions as a highly misanthropic exercise in sonic intimidation and ideological confrontation.
