On their 2023 debut, 'Vol. I', the collective Nu Jazz lays the foundation for their boundary-defying aesthetic. Blending avant-garde jazz and jazz fusion with the raw energy of art punk, the record serves as a manic, technically complex, and deeply eclectic introductory statement.
