Album Notes & Community Reviews

Collaborating with legendary producer Jon Brion, Kevin Barnes steered of Montreal toward a sleek, highly danceable R&B and funk-infused direction with 'False Priest'. The album features guest vocals from Solange and Janelle Mon谩e, leaning into dense, maximalist arrangements that juxtapose aggressively upbeat rhythms with Barnes' characteristically neurotic lyricism. It marks a flamboyant, polarizing, and deeply ambitious chapter in their discography.
