Album Notes & Community Reviews

Kevin Barnes retreats to their home studio, recording the entirety of the project in complete isolation despite the album's incredibly bright, extroverted sound. Heavily inspired by 1980s new wave and the ecstatic energy of early romance (specifically regarding partner Christina Schneider), the record is packed with high-tempo, danceable synth-pop. It represents one of the most straightforwardly joyful and accessible entries in their sprawling discography.
