Album Notes & Community Reviews
Recorded for the New Jazz label, 'Screamin' the Blues' pairs arranger Oliver Nelson with a front line featuring Eric Dolphy and Richard Williams. The session is characterized by Nelson's robust, blues-centric compositions, which effectively anchor Dolphy's increasingly unconventional alto saxophone and bass clarinet interpolations.
