Age Of

Album Notes & Community Reviews

On 'Age Of', Oneohtrix Point Never synthesizes a vast historical palette, blending baroque MIDI harpsichord textures with contemporary forms like R&B, chamber pop, and abrasive noise. The album marks a significant shift toward song-oriented structures and is the first to prominently feature Daniel Lopatin's own processed vocals, complemented by contributions from collaborators including James Blake, who also co-produced and mixed the record, and Anohni. Thematically, the work is a dense, conceptual exploration of cyclical history and post-human intelligence, creating a sound that is both emotionally resonant and stylistically ambitious.
