Autumn Eternal
by Panopticon
As the concluding installment of a thematic trilogy, 'Autumn Eternal' sees Panopticon moving away from the overt bluegrass influences of past work toward a more seamlessly integrated sound, blending atmospheric black metal with elements of post-rock and dark folk. The album’s arrangements feature sweeping, distorted guitar passages that transition into serene instrumental sections with strings and acoustic layers, all guided by a production that emphasizes a layered, weighty feel. Thematically, the record is a deeply personal and contemplative work, using the metaphor of the autumn season to explore concepts of change, impermanence, and creator Austin Lunn's connection to the natural world.
