East!

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded when the prodigious guitarist was just twenty-three, the session highlights his blazing fretboard dexterity and deep harmonic understanding. 'East!' incorporates subtle Eastern modal flavors into an aggressive, hard-swinging post-bop framework. Martino's fluid, relentless soloing alongside pianist Eddie Green cements his reputation as one of the era's most technically gifted jazz instrumentalists.
