Album Notes & Community Reviews

This RCA Victor release reunites two titans of the West Coast cool jazz movement, altoist Paul Desmond and baritone saxophonist Gerry Mulligan. Functioning without a piano, the pianoless quartet setting allows the two horn players to engage in incredibly intricate, seamlessly weaving contrapuntal improvisations.
