Following decades of legendary, cassette-only demo releases, the notoriously reclusive Swiss black metal solo artist delivered only his second official studio album. The record notably dials back the sprawling, ambient synth passages of his prior work, focusing instead on incredibly raw, driving blast-beats and punk-inflected black metal aggression. Thematically, it explores the folklore of winter spirits through a suffocating, blizzard-like lo-fi production.
