Album Notes & Community Reviews
Focusing heavily on African polyrhythms and jubilant, chant-like vocal contributions, the saxophonist leaned into the more celebratory, groove-oriented side of his spiritual jazz repertoire. The concise session strips back the extended, side-long improvisations of his previous masterpieces in favor of tight, uplifting, percussion-heavy explorations.
