Downwind

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Continuing the percussionist's leadership over the splintered Gong moniker, this release firmly embeds the band in incredibly tight, virtuosic jazz fusion. Featuring guest appearances by Mike Oldfield and Mick Taylor, the instrumental compositions prioritize complex vibraphone and drum interplay over the psychedelic eccentricity of their Daevid Allen era. It serves as a highly polished, rhythmically exhilarating document of European jazz-rock.
