Born from a malfunctioning Waldorf 4-Pole synthesizer filter that produced distinct, rhythmic crackling, Stefan Betke turned an audio error into a subgenre-defining sound. The warm, dub-drenched sub-bass and insistent glitch textures of 'CD 1' laid the absolute groundwork for the early 2000s click-house and minimal techno movements.
