Biography

Pole is Stefan Betke, a Düsseldorf-born electronic musician and mastering engineer. His albums '1', '2' and '3' (1998–2000), built from the crackle of a broken filter over dub basslines, are landmarks of minimal dub and glitch. Betke co-founded the Berlin label #~scape# in 1999 and has continued the project with records including 'Steingarten' and 'Wald'. He also works internationally as a mastering and restoration engineer.
