Album Notes & Community Reviews
Representing a highly controversial, massive stylistic departure, the legendary German ambient pioneers Popol Vuh fully embrace modern club culture on 'City Raga'. The album completely abandons Florian Fricke's signature acoustic piano and choral grandeur, replacing them heavily with pulsing 4/4 tribal house beats and contemporary trance synthesizers. It stands as a fascinatingly strange, deeply polarizing attempt to adapt classic kosmische aesthetics for the 90s dancefloor.
