Released during the height of his bitter contract dispute with Warner Bros., this notably dark and highly sexual record was credited simply to 'Prince 1958–1993', symbolically killing off his former moniker while he used the unpronounceable 'Love Symbol'. The music explores heavy, brooding electronic funk and new jack swing, standing out as one of his most challenging mid-90s releases.
