Biography
Prince was a wildly prolific singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist from Minneapolis, Minnesota, celebrated for his innovative and genre-blending music. A true musical prodigy, he played nearly all the instruments on his early records, including his 1978 debut 'For You' on #Warner Bros.#. His work fused funk, rock, pop, and R&B, creating the influential "Minneapolis sound". The 1984 album and film 'Purple Rain' catapulted him to global superstardom. Throughout his career, he was known for his flamboyant stage presence, androgynous persona, and battles for artistic freedom, famously changing his name to an unpronounceable symbol in the 1990s.
