Album Notes & Community Reviews
Acting as a vital bridge toward his imminent global superstardom, Prince's 'Controversy' fiercely refines his deeply sexual, highly rhythmic blend of new wave and funk. Driven by incredibly tight drum machines and funky, popping basslines, the album is a remarkably playful, energetic, and newly political showcase of his burgeoning Minneapolis Sound.
