Album Notes & Community Reviews

Emerging from the consolidation of several aborted projects after disbanding The Revolution, 'Sign '☮︎' the Times' is a sprawling solo double album that demonstrates the full breadth of Prince's artistry through its eclectic fusion of funk, rock, soul, and psychedelic pop. The sound is defined by the prominent use of the Linn LM-1 drum machine and Fairlight CMI synthesizer, creating a sonic palette that ranges from minimalist electro-funk to lush arrangements, underpinning lyrics that navigate social commentary, carnal desire, and spiritual devotion, sometimes delivered through his high-pitched 'Camille' vocal persona.
