Attempted Martyr

Album Notes & Community Reviews

On their debut 'Attempted Martyr', the Dearborn-based band unleashes a searing fusion of industrial-indebted noise rock and heavy-fisted post-punk, characterized by serrated guitars, monolithic drumming, and the unique integration of sampled, reedy tones with a Middle Eastern flavor. The album's immense sonic weight provides a chaotic backdrop for its loose conceptual narrative, which chronicles the rise and fall of a violent religious zealot as a visceral reaction to contemporary turmoil. This thematic intensity is matched by a raw, wrenching vocal performance that embodies both furious rage and deep anguish.
