John Lydon deliberately obliterated the legacy of the Sex Pistols with the debut of Public Image Ltd., pioneering the bleak, abrasive sound of British post-punk. Driven by Jah Wobble's dub-heavy basslines and Keith Levene's metallic guitar scrape, 'Public Image' is a fiercely rebellious, deeply misanthropic, and noisily sarcastic assault on rock conventions.
