Emerging from the Louisville underground rock scene, Jason Noble's primarily instrumental ensemble debuted with an incredibly lush, profoundly melancholic fusion of post-rock pacing and neoclassical instrumentation. The remarkably cinematic arrangements heavily feature weeping cellos, delicate piano lines, and exceedingly subtle, jazz-inflected drumming. The remarkably beautiful, highly ambitious recording helped pioneer the integration of complex chamber music structures into the 1990s alternative landscape.
