Biography
Rachel's were a Louisville, Kentucky band formed in 1991 around a core trio of Jason Noble (guitar, bass), Rachel Grimes (piano) and Christian Frederickson (viola), with an expanding ensemble of string and percussion players. Blending minimalism, chamber music and post-rock, they released five albums on #Quarterstick Records#, including 'Handwriting', 'The Sea and the Bells' and 'Systems/Layers'. The group wound down after 2003 and ended with Noble's death in 2012. Rachel's were a band, not a classical composer.
