Album Notes & Community Reviews

A fixture of the Greenwich Village folk revival, Burns crafted a haunting, introspective debut for the historically avant-garde ESP-Disk label. 'Evening of the Magician' relies on sparse acoustic arrangements to highlight his distinctive vibrato and melancholic lyrical narratives. The album presents an deeply personal, slightly psychedelic take on contemporary folk music, shunning commercial polish for raw intimacy.
