Album Notes & Community Reviews
Weston produced the session but plays piano on only one of its three long pieces, 'Chalabati', leaving the programme to nine master guimbri players including Abdellah El Gourd and Maleem Mahmoud Ghania. Vincent Blanchet captured the performances directly onto two track digital tape on 17 September 1992, in the ballroom of the La Mamounia hotel in Marrakesh. The album was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best World Music Album.
