Expanding beyond the guitar-and-synth blueprint of their first two records, the Brooklyn duo heavily incorporates live keyboards, harpsichords, mellotrons, and subtle world-music percussion into their third album. The instrumental tracks maintain their signature, incredibly catchy melodic hooks but feature a much warmer, more eclectic, and relaxed psychedelic atmosphere. It is widely considered their most musically ambitious achievement.
