Biography
Ratatat is the Brooklyn electronic rock duo of Evan Mast and Mike Stroud, formed in 2001 and first active under the name Cherry. Across five albums for #XL Recordings#, from the laptop-recorded debut 'Ratatat' (2004) through 'Classics', 'LP3' and 'LP4' to 'Magnifique' (2015), they refined an instrumental sound of interlocking guitars, synthesizers and programmed beats. Long gaps between records and Stroud's later move to *Kunzite* left the duo inactive after 2015, though no formal split was announced.
