Album Notes & Community Reviews

Taking a rare turn away from the double bass, Ray Brown demonstrates remarkable proficiency on a specially constructed jazz cello. Supported by an orchestra arranged by Russ Garcia, the album showcases Brown's impeccable timekeeping and melodic invention, proving the cello could function as a vibrant solo instrument in a swinging context.
