Mining the Tyne and Wear Archives for historical accounts of local tragedy and true crime, the English songwriter structured this concept album entirely around unaccompanied vocal performances. The haunting, rawly delivered a cappella tracks are uniquely separated by chaotic bursts of dissonant, improvisational electric guitar noise.
