Album Notes & Community Reviews

Following his departure from Fairport Convention, the legendary guitarist released his debut solo album to a startlingly poor commercial and critical reception. Employing former bandmates like Sandy Denny and Ashley Hutchings, the record is a deeply idiosyncratic mix of traditional folk structures and eccentric, slightly cynical lyricism. Over time, it has been rightfully reassessed as a brilliant, foundational blueprint for his extensive solo career.
