Trances

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Initially self-released on cassette, 'Trances' lays the foundation for Robert Rich's signature style of deep, sustained drone music. The extended compositions were designed to induce hypnagogic states and facilitate sleep, heavily utilizing cyclical synthesizer textures and subtle psychoacoustic phenomena. The work is a cornerstone of the West Coast ambient and sleep concert movement.
