The San Diego septet delivered their most critically and commercially successful album, fueled by incredibly energetic, remarkably tight garage-punk anthems. Distinctively utilizing a full, Stax-inspired brass section alongside heavily distorted punk rock guitars, the band's fiercely energetic arrangements frequently recall 1950s rock and roll and vintage soul. The highly charismatic, remarkably polished release firmly established them as one of the most uniquely entertaining acts of the alternative boom.
