Written and arranged entirely by Traor茅, 'Wanita' extends her synthesis of Mande music, building songs around the interlocking patterns of n'goni and kora beneath her acoustic guitar and vocals in Bambara. A duet with Boubacar Traor茅 anchors a program that treats the griot inheritance as compositional material rather than ornament, its harmonized vocal lines a rarity in Malian practice.
