Album Notes & Community Reviews

Produced by David Kahne, the San Francisco band's final studio album polished their angular post-punk roots into a highly sophisticated, dance-oriented new wave sound. Debora Iyall's distinctively deadpan, intensely poetic vocal delivery remains the focal point, slicing through driving basslines and bright synthesizer stabs. The record spawned the massive hit single 'A Girl in Trouble (Is a Temporary Thing)', briefly propelling them into mainstream MTV rotation before their eventual split.
