Album Notes & Community Reviews

As a cornerstone of the emerging jazz-funk movement, this Polydor release seamlessly bridges complex improvisational concepts with accessible, groove-laden R&B rhythms. The acclaimed vibraphonist and his highly skilled backing ensemble masterfully incorporate early synthesizers and socially conscious lyricism, laying crucial groundwork for the neo-soul and hip-hop productions of subsequent decades.
