Album Notes & Community Reviews
'Under Jolly Roger' represents a crucial thematic turning point for the German act, as they abandoned their earlier occult aesthetics in favor of a historical maritime motif. This shift toward pirate-themed lyricism was matched by an acceleration in tempo and a reliance on triumphant, speed-metal-inflected guitar harmonies.
