Biography

Running Wild is a German heavy metal band from Hamburg, formed in 1976 and led throughout by singer and guitarist Rolf Kasparek. After the satanic imagery of 'Gates to Purgatory' (1984), 'Under Jolly Roger' (1987) on #Noise Records# established the pirate and historical themes the band became known for, followed by 'Port Royal' (1988), 'Death or Glory' (1989) and 'Pile of Skulls' (1992). Kasparek disbanded the group in 2009 and reformed it in 2011, releasing 'Shadowmaker' (2012), 'Resilient' (2013), 'Rapid Foray' (2016) and 'Blood on Blood' (2021).
