Recorded under incredibly tense studio conditions, 'Grace Under Pressure' captures Rush fully embracing the cold, synthesizer-heavy aesthetics of 1980s new wave while retaining their progressive rock complexity. Neil Peart's highly philosophical, often bleak lyricism tackles themes of Cold War paranoia and technological dread. It is a highly energetic, atmospheric, and brilliantly executed fusion of hard rock and modern electronic textures.
