Rush

A Canadian rock trio formed in Toronto in 1968, Rush evolved from a hard rock foundation into a defining force of progressive rock. The band was distinguished by its technical virtuosity, complex compositions, and the philosophical, often sci-fi-influenced, lyrics of Neil Peart. Their sound continually transformed, from early hard rock to a peak progressive era, followed by a synthesizer-heavy period in the 1980s and a later return to guitar-centric arrangements. This trajectory of stylistic evolution, anchored by consistent instrumental proficiency, cemented their influence on subsequent generations of rock musicians and established a deeply committed international fanbase.
