Album Notes & Community Reviews

An incredibly ambitious cross-cultural undertaking, 'Beauty' finds the former Yellow Magic Orchestra maestro seamlessly merging traditional Okinawan folk music with modern Western art pop and African polyrhythms. The album features a staggering array of international guests, including Brian Wilson, Youssou N'Dour, and Robbie Robertson, creating a dense, beautifully textured tapestry of global sound. It stands as a pinnacle achievement of the late-80s worldbeat movement.
