Album Notes & Community Reviews
Abandoning their earlier commercial missteps, Savatage embraced a highly theatrical, progressive direction with 'Hall of the Mountain King'. Produced by Paul O'Neill, the album pairs Jon Oliva's shrieking, passionate vocals with Criss Oliva's virtuosic, heavy metal riffing and burgeoning symphonic elements. It is an energetic, triumphant fantasy epic that redefined the scope of US power metal.
