Acaraki

Album Notes & Community Reviews

The truly visionary Indonesian duo entirely deconstructs traditional Javanese folk music, utilizing a unique, custom-built bamboo string instrument and terrifyingly intense vocal techniques. 'Acaraki' violently transitions from delicate, ritualistic acoustic passages into impossibly heavy, profoundly manic explosions of throat singing and percussive noise. The album is a fiercely avant-garde, incredibly dark, and remarkably aggressive masterpiece of experimental folk.
