Album Notes & Community Reviews
Following the dissolution of The Pale Fountains, Michael Head formed this Liverpudlian outfit to further explore his deeply melodic jangle pop sensibilities. Produced by Ian Broudie, the debut album suffers slightly from the heavy-handed, polished studio techniques of the era, which somewhat masked the acoustic warmth of the songwriting. Nevertheless, it laid the foundation for Head's reputation as a brilliantly underrated indie pop composer.
