The Rapture
by Siouxsie & The Banshees
The final studio album from the legendary post-punk pioneers was partially produced by John Cale, who contributed heavily to the title track's sprawling, eleven-minute arrangement. The remarkably lush, string-laden compositions fully embrace sophisticated pop structures, continuing their late-career departure from aggressive gothic rock. Following extensive promotional touring for the release, the band officially announced their dissolution in 1996.
