Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Mendocino' reintroduced Doug Sahm's Sir Douglas Quintet after relocation to the West Coast, mixing Texas border traditions with country rock and garage-pop directness. The title track became one of the group's signature songs. The album's bilingual and regional sensibility distinguished it from the more standard Los Angeles country-rock sound of the same period.
