The second studio album by Norwegian band Sirenia, 'An Elixir for Existence' introduces vocalist Henriette Bordvik, replacing the session singer Fabienne Gondamin, opposite founder Morten Veland's growls across all nine tracks. Produced by Veland with Terje Refsnes at Sound Suite Studio in Marseille in September and October 2003, its songs center on depression, drug use and suicide.
