Album Notes & Community Reviews

Returning to the UK after a prolonged attempt to break the American market, Slade found their commercial momentum severely diminished by the punk explosion. 'Whatever Happened to Slade?' responds with a markedly heavier, tougher hard rock sound. The band strips away much of their glam-pop sheen in favor of aggressive, street-level guitar grit that proved highly influential on the NWOBHM movement.
