The Demise of Planet X

Album Notes & Community Reviews

On 'The Demise of Planet X', Sleaford Mods filters a conceptual framework—a world already ended by mundanity and cultural decay—through their most musically ambitious and collaborative album to date. Andrew Fearn’s production expands on the duo’s signature minimalist electro-punk, incorporating fuller textures and more approachable melodies, while Jason Williamson’s vitriolic rants are balanced with moments of raw vulnerability and introspection. The album’s sound is significantly broadened by a diverse roster of guests, including Gwendoline Christie, Aldous Harding, and Sue Tompkins, who augment the core duo’s unflinching social commentary.
